Guillaume Coutu-Dumont’s prolific career spans multiple groups, influences, and countries. Originally trained in electroacoustics and classical and Latin percussion, he debuted at MUTEK in 2003 and has since become a major figure on the international electronic music scene.
He first made his mark in Montreal’s techno and microhouse scene with EGG and Chic Miniature, before spending over a decade in Berlin. With Guillaume & The Coutu Dumonts, he developed a signature sound blending funk, house, techno, and gospel, delivering infectious live performances that prioritize live sets over DJing.
Back in Montreal, Coutu-Dumont continues to explore live projects, including the trio Auflassen (premiered at MUTEK 2020) and the duo Flabbergast with Vincent Lemieux, solidifying his reputation as a dynamic and versatile performer.
