Flabbergast was born from a one-off collaboration for a MUTEK_rec release, bringing together Guillaume Coutu Dumont and Vincent Lemieux.
What began as a singular project quickly evolved into an ongoing artistic partnership. For over a decade, the duo focused primarily on fully improvised live performances, before shifting their attention toward composition and recorded output from 2014 onward.
Drawing inspiration from all corners of electronic music while also embracing elements of jazz, hip hop, and contemporary composition, Flabbergast thrives on stylistic freedom.
The complementary backgrounds and areas of expertise of both composers expand the group’s creative range, allowing their music to move fluidly across genres with no aesthetic boundaries.
In 2024, Flabbergast launched their own imprint, Copier/Coller, and released in 2025 a new album on the French label Chapelle XIV.
